Ninja Warriors

In our last post we talked about the past and reminised about old toys and games.  Hanging around with all these young people we get exposed to all the new toys and crazy games of the next generation.  Recently Breana and Jackie taught us the game “Ninja”.  In a nutshell, the object of the game is to hit the hand of someone else before yours gets hit. I personally think it’s more fun watching, listening and laughing than playing. Our group is always looking for fun games to play.  If you have any ideas let us know.  You might just see us playing it on a video.

  1. Love it!

I think my favorite childhood game is telephone – guess that figures, with how much I love talking!

If you don’t know the game: You line up, or sit in a circle, but a little spread out. The first person in the line thinks of a sentence or two to say, and whispers it to the second person, who whispers it to the third person, and so on.

Then the final person says it out loud, the first person says what it was supposed to be, and everyone has a good laugh pointing fingers at the person sure to have messed it up!

  2. My kids enjoy playing the “license plate” game. Basically, they have to find the license plate for each state of the United States in alphabetical order! While we travel on the highways to visit relatives, or just walking through parking lots (DollyWood is a great place) they look for them. (Remember, they have to find them in order alphabetically! If they find Tennessee before they find Kentucky, it doesn’t count!) My kids are now 29 and 25, and I don’t think either one has won the game, yet. (They have been playing this game ever since they were little.) However, they DO let each other know what state they are on! I think my son is on “Utah” and my daughter is on “South Dakota”. “Hawaii” was a fun one to find, but they each found it! With all the traveling you do, it shouldn’t take long for someone to win at this game!
